Disable Windows 11 fast startup

Windows 11 Fast Startup can cause driver and hardware issues, particularly with outdated drivers or USB devices, and may prevent proper updates or system services from resetting. It can also lead to file system problems in dual-boot setups or with encrypted drives. Troubleshooting is harder with Fast Startup enabled, so consider disabling it if issues arise.

1. Enter “control” in Windows search field
2. Start control panel

3. Search for Power Options in the Control Panel
4. Open “Choose what the power button does” on the left-hand side
5. Remove the tick next to “Turn on fast startup”

6. Save your changes and restart the computer
